<description>Does anyone know if this area is near the birthplace and childhood home of General Thomas Sumter (1734-1832)? Supposedly, it was in the Preddy&#039;s Creek area, though one source suggests that it was actually on some high ground overlooking Marshall Creek not far from Three Forks. Sumter&#039;s father is said to have run a gristmill near where Preddy&#039;s Creek enters the North Fork of the Rivanna.

Since this show talks about wading in that creek, I just wonder if anyone has come across anything relevant to the Sumter home.
