A look at CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates

This is the logo for CASA - and the first caption ever on the Charlottesville Podcasting Network!

Each year in the Charlottesville / Albemarle region, hundreds of children are victims of violence, sexual abuse and severe neglect. Piedmont CASA is an organization that trains Court Appointed Special Advocates, who work one-on-one with abused and endangered children to assist the courts in determining the best environment to ensure each child’s safety and well-being. On the July 20 edition of WNRN’s Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call, Rick speaks with CASA Advancement Director Phoebe Frosch and CASA volunteer Patty Thomas Cato.

Changing Virginia’s energy culture with Al Weed

Former 5th District Congressional Candidate Al Weed has relaunched Public Policy of Virginia, a grass roots organization whose stated mission is to “change the energy culture of the Commonwealth.” Weed joined Rick Moore on the July 13th edition of the Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call on WNRN to answer questions about the role carbon emissions.
