2008 Virginia Film Festival

On the October 26th edition of WNRN’s Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call, Rick Moore talks with Richard Herskowitz, Artistic Director of the Virginia Film Festival, which begins this Thursday, Oct. 30. This is Herskowitz’ fifteenth and final festival, and he speaks about all the various elements that must come together to make it so successful. Also in the studio is Alexandra Woodward, director of All My Friends Are Strangers, a work-in-progress scheduled to screen on Friday.

Wake-Up Call: Presidential Debate

On the October 19th edition of the Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call on WNRN, Virginia Policy Director, Oscar Ramirez, a representative of Obama Campaign,  joins host Rick Moore to discuss politics. Sean Kenney, a former communication director from the Republican Party joined the later half of the show to represent the McCain Campaign. Some of the topics touched upon were: Were the early economic warnings overlooked? What part of the problem did regulation play in the current crisis? Understanding Single Men in Mid-life

On the October 5th edition of WNRN’s Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call, Rick Moore speaks with Beth Eck, Professor of Sociology at James Madison University, who for the past four years has been engaging in a study of single men in mid-life. Through her studies, Eck has found that there are a lot of assumptions and stigma associated with single men, and many reasons why they have remained single.
