Christmas Blues and Seasonal Affective Disorder
On the December 7th edition of WNRN’s Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call, host Rick Moore examines the difference between Seasonal Affective Disorder and what is commonly known as “Holiday Blues”. To explain the physiological affects of SAD, Rick speaks with Dr. David Moody, the Medical Director of Region Ten, and Jenny Oliver, Executive Director of Mental Health America (Thomas Jefferson area). These two experts explain that stresses of the holiday season, in addition to the global financial problems, can conspire with the affects of winter weather to create a depressive state.
